The Deepings Art Competition

‘’What incredibly talented children you have in your school!’’ was the statement made by Steve Holt, one of the organisers of The Rotary Club of The Deepings Art Competition. And how right he was.

Linchfield were invited to enter a group of Year 6 children into the Rotary Art Competition, with the work being displayed in Deeping’s Tesco store for the local people to enjoy. The artwork was then judged, alongside the work from other Year 6 children from other local primary schools.

All the work was of the highest quality and all the children entered should be incredibly proud of themselves. However, as always, there could be only one overall winner and Lacey, from Linchfield Academy was the artist who achieved that accolade!

Lacey’s stunning self-portrait, inspired by the work of Julian Opie and Andy Warhol, was chosen to receive the First Prize award of £50 (with an equal cash prize being donated to the school too), and Enya was also chosen as a winner of a cash prize for her own superb self-portrait. Alongside these talented artists, 3 other Year 6 children: Rosie, Evelyn and Joshua were worthy recipients of a chocolate easter egg for their entries, which had also been chosen for the talent demonstrated in their work.

Well done to all!!
